Site Project and Programme Manager
• Salary Range: £72,592 - £85,302 per annum
• Hours: Full time - 37.5 hour week
• Contract: Permanent
• Location: Newark
• Closing Date: 15 October 2025
So, what’s the role?
We’re looking for a Site Projects & Programme Manager to lead the successful delivery of our site-based capital projects and 5-year programme at British Sugar’s Newark factory.
You’ll manage the full project lifecycle — from feasibility and planning through to execution, commissioning, and handover — ensuring every project delivers real business value while meeting our safety, quality, cost, and time objectives.
Alongside delivering projects, you’ll develop and lead a high-performing project team, building capability through structured training and succession planning.
What are we looking for?
We need a proven project leader who can inspire teams, manage complexity, and deliver results in a manufacturing environment. You will have:

APMP Certificate in Project Management (or equivalent) and NEBOSH General Certificate (essential).

Proven experience delivering industrial projects >£500k on time, within budget, and to high safety and quality standards.

Strong stakeholder management skills, from shopfloor to Board level.

Degree in Engineering (BEng Hons or equivalent).

Commercial and financial acumen in capital project delivery.

Tenacious, innovative, and motivational leadership qualities.
Desirable: NEBOSH Construction Certificate, food industry experience, Continuous Improvement qualifications (e.g. Yellow Belt).
Key Accountabilities include:

Provide health and safety (H&S) leadership for the project team, and assume responsibility for all aspects of H&S associated with the project(s).

Deliver a portfolio of capital and transformation projects (£500k–£10m) safely, on schedule, to budget, and to agreed quality standards.

Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team including engineers, administrators, and contractors.

Apply robust project governance, risk management, and reporting through our stage-gate process.

Own and manage project business cases aligned with site strategic plans.

Engage and influence stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment and drive business value.
