Salary and Work Pattern

Salary:

Range £39,627.17image to £39,627.17

 

Work Pattern:

Mon-Friday 3 shift rotating pattern (Sunday night shift to Friday afternoon shift).

Job Purpose

To lead the day-to-day operation of all warehouse activities and processes, such as, but not limited to, the movement of all raw materials and product on forklift trucks and reach trucks (where required) in support of the production teams and to carry out the side loading of vehicles according to the load list.

Core Accountabilities

Responsibilities defined in line with the Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People (SQCDP) framework:

 

Safety & Quality:

  • Lead by example by maintaining a proactive approach to safety, quality & hygiene to ensure standards are maintained and improved.
  • Ensure product despatched is compliant with relevant standards.
  • Ensure completion and recording of required safety, food safety, CCP checks and analysis on equipment and product.
  • Demonstrate a food safe operation of the warehouse areas to auditors and customers where needed.
  • Inspection of vehicles prior to loading and despatch to ensure trailer beds appropriately clean and free of any Health & Safety or Food Safety risks as per British Sugar standards (e.g. glass, allergens)
  • Support with investigations and resolution of damage complaints.

Cost:

  • Work with peers and area leads to enact continuous improvement in the operational for all warehouse areas.

People:

  • Keep personal skills and training up to date.
  • Train and develop new operators where required.
  • Competent use of British Sugar IT systems including JDE, Eden, Agility, Opus and Outlook

Delivery:

  • Manage the flow of vehicles within the loading bay including completion of trailer bed inspections.
  • Manage the interface between the load list management software and warehouse stocks to ensure that product is ready for dispatch.
  • Communicate appropriately with drivers to ensure safe and effective loading of their vehicle.
  • Manage the load finished product onto vehicles for despatch, ensuring any customer specific requirements are met and product being despatched has been loaded to the appropriate standard avoiding damage.
  • Manage offload of raw materials, packaging and pallets from incoming deliveries and store in appropriate locations safely (support, facilitate or manage successful completion of the task)
  • Ensure incoming raw materials and products are labelled appropriately and captured on warehouse management system to ensure stock is controlled and rotated appropriately (FIFO)
  • Ensure the despatch plan is met, proactively communicating with SPM’s where there may be a risk of short loading or not meeting the plan.
  • Own the rework process of any internal products and returns not complying with required standard
  • Ensure all movements of raw materials, packaging, pallets, and finished products are tracked through the warehouse management system and scanned correctly.
  • Complete all required despatch documentation including any customer special requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with SPMs, Stock Controller, hauliers and logistics teams in the event of issues loading vehicles.

  • Record despatches and other operational data where required.
  • Manage required day to day routines around the operational area for all production lines.
  • Generate information and reports where relevant.
  • Support stock check process and completion of pallet counts in line with reporting requirements.
  • Manage and report on Remelt throughout the Warehouse, maintaining safe storage of all pallets, and escalating where support is needed.
  • Manage the organisation of all storage areas and loading bay and ensuring that materials and finished product is stored in correct and assigned areas.
  • Raise any concerns related to shortages, inaccuracies, or expired stock to SPM’s and/or stock controller in a timely manner to facilitate resolution of issues before major impact to the business.

Have an open and honest approach to the team members if any unsafe condition occurs. See it, sort it and report it.
